We are pleased to announce our first RV award! On Saturday, January 30, we will give Maria and her son an RV! Maria is a caregiver who has been staying at client homes trading her services for rent. Like many low income people, she doesn’t earn enough to move out and get her own place. She and her 12 year-old son have health issues which make it even more difficult for them to live without their own place.
Maria is very fortunate to have a wonderful friend, Victoria. Victoria found out about the RV Makeover Project from the Casa Esperanza shelter in Santa Barbara where she volunteers. Victoria contacted me and told me about Maria. I subsequently had a great meeting with her and later, with Maria.
Maria and her son are very excited and can’t wait to see the RV. They will do that for the first time at our award ceremony on January 30 at 1 PM. We are holding the ceremony at Regalo Virgin Olive Oil, Inc. at 283 Carne Road in Ojai. Regalo has been a big supporter of the Hearts Of Fire Project and we would like to honor them as well.
We are inviting the media and all of our friends to this event. Our intention is to attract more RV donations and volunteers to help us fix them up. I promise it will be an inspiring time for all.
I am a public television producer who will be in attendance at the event on Saturday at Regalo in Ojai.
In addition to filming the highlights of your event, you are invited to the television studio in Ventura in the near future, to discuss your group, your mission & your programs, free-of-charge.
You’ll then receive a local public television special Hearts of Fire: Hope for the Homeless.
I have 6yrs exp. producing local public television specials and documentary films, including The Horse Rescuers of Ventura County for the Humane Society of Ventura County, and Eco Touring Lake Casitas.
