Hearts Of Fire Project Competes to Win GlobalGiving’s “American Open” Challenge<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Local nonprofit has chance to receive short and long term \u201ceconomic stimulus\u201d for empowering homeless people via innovative online marketplace for philanthropy<\/p>\n

Ojai, CA \u2013 The Hearts Of Fire Project today joined GlobalGiving\u2019s American Open, a fundraising challenge where American Non-Profits can win up to $6,000 in extra funding to help support their mission during these harsh economic times. The Project is also eligible for a permanent spot on GlobalGiving.com, the internationally recognized marketplace for philanthropy that connects individual donors to the causes they care most about.<\/p>\n

GlobalGiving is opening up its network of donors and corporate partners in an effort to support American non-profits like the Hearts Of Fire Project that are providing much needed support to their local communities throughout the economic downturn.<\/p>\n

American Open participants will raise funds through GlobalGiving.com from June 8th \u201330th. The three projects that raise the most will receive awards of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000, respectively; the project receiving the most individual donations will receive an additional $3,000.<\/p>\n

Organizations participating in the challenge can also earn a permanent spot on the GlobalGiving website if they successfully mobilize supporters to raise $4,000 from at least 50 unique donors through GlobalGiving during the contest.<\/p>\n

If the Hearts Of Fire Project wins, it will also gain free access to innovative web 2.0 fundraising tools and connect to a broad network of thousands of donors and corporate and foundation partners already engaged in the GlobalGiving network.<\/p>\n
