We had a blast at the fair and exceeded all of our expectations.
During the 11 days and nights we were there, more than 306,000 people were exposed to the Hearts Of Fire Project. Because we were positioned right next to the fair entrance, we were the first thing people saw when they arrived and the last when they left. As a result, we spread our message far and wide and spoke with many people. Although our primary goal was to publicize our cause, we also exceeded our fundraising goal by 41%!

Everyone did a tremendous job; we are blessed to have such a great team. I acknowledge Anders, Diane, David, Jill, Mary, Bill, Jean, Kenyon, Lydia, Peterson, Gayle, Geri, Laura and Giovanni for the great work that they did.
I especially thank Jill, our intrepid volunteer coordinator, who put in many long hours at the fair. Without her dedication and commitment, this event would not have been the success that it was. I am grateful to have so many wonderful people to work with on this Project.

Despite the fact that it is summer in Southern California, we rarely saw the sun. Instead, temperatures hovered in the low 60’s during the day and dipped into the 50’s at night, frequently accompanied by strong winds and a damp fog.
Although the weather was sometimes a challenge, the crowds never stopped coming. We talked with many interesting people and really enjoyed the experience. Can’t wait for next year!
